These bacon nuts are NUTS!

We all crave for some healthy snacks at some point of the day. I’m really in mood for some savory taste nuts. Bacon lard and Maggi sauce are my picks as the main ingredients for creating the Umani flavored nuts. They are yummy snacks for anytime of the day!

Ingredients

  • 2 cup almond nuts
  • 2 cup pecan nuts
  • 3 tbsp warm water
  • 1 tbsp flour almond flour or gluten-free flour for gluten-free
  • 1 teaspoon Monk fruit golden sugar Or white/brown sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon black truffle salt or table salt
  • 3 drops Maggi sauce
  • 2 teaspoon bacon fat/lard
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon tajin powder
  • 1 tbsp Sriracha or your favorite hot sauce
  • 1 tbsp lemond juice

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 300 degrees F
  • In a large mixing bowl, add the warm water to the flour, sugar, salt and bacon lard to mix them well.
  • Add the rest of the ingredients to bowl. Mix them well. Add a 1/4 teaspoon warm water or flour to find the right consistency for the batter.
  • Mix the almonds and pecans in the bowl. Fold them by a big spoon for a couple of minutes to make sure all the nuts are evenly coated with the batter. Pour them into the baking sheet and lay them as flat as you can.
  • Bake them in the oven for first 15 minutes and lower the heat to 280 for another 15 minutes. Remove the baking sheet from the oven and allow the nuts to cool down for 15-20 minutes.

Pour the battered nuts on a baking sheet
After cooling down completely, break some of the nuts that are stick together and store them in the airtight container.
